"Ryan McElroy Children's Cancer Foundation" Walk/Run 5K 8mile Kid's 1/2mile Saturday June 9, 2011

Monday, June 4, 2012

From Race Director Lori Cassia-Decker The Ryan McElroy Children;s Cancer Foundation was born to help children in the Hudson Valley who's lives have been touched by cancer and other life threatening illnesses. The foundation is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of these children and 100%of the money raised goes directly to the families . They pay medical expenses, household expenses, purchase beds and help build ramps and make wishes come true for these local children. I am so amazed to have witness how much they have given to our community. They simply want to do what they can to ease the pain as much as humanly possible and make a difference in the lives of these children and their families. Ryan's walk/run is sponsored by the Mid-Hudson Road Runner's Club. I cannot thank the MHRRC for all of their support for this event. If you cannot run but would like to be a volunteer or sponsor please contact me at lorirun4@hotmail.com. The Kid's 1/2 mile begins at 8:30am and is FREE for all pre-registered kids. The 5K Walk/Run and 8 mile begins at 9am. The race starts and finishes at the scenic Lakeside Park in Pawling. Please go to MHRRC.org to register on their shopping cart. Free T-shirts, ice cream, and ribbons for all kids running the 1/2 mile. Music and BBQ for all participants and spectators after the race. This year's event is in memory of Niall Heraty of Van Wyck Junior High School. Niall was a special young boy whose strength had inspired other young kids to make a difference. Thank you to the MHRRC and the Ryan McElroy Children's Cancer Foundation for making the difference of the lives of hundreds of children in the Hudson Valley. With sincere thanks, Lori
