CAPE Hires Michael Carozza as Marathon Project Coordinator
Poughkeepsie, New York, August 14, 2009—The Council on Addiction Prevention and Education of Dutchess County, Inc. (CAPE), a leading provider of substance abuse prevention and education services in the Hudson Valley, has hired Michael Carozza as Marathon Project Coordinator. Effective immediately, Michael will be responsible for fundraising, coordination, and development of the Marathon Project. Michael has an extensive volunteer background with youth recreation programs.
Michael joins the CAPE team after holding marketing and sales positions with General Motors and the New York Mets. He attended Boston University where he studied Communications, receiving his B.S. in 2008.
The Marathon Project is an innovative program that addresses serious issues that teens face everyday in Dutchess County. Such issues are: obesity, tobacco use, alcoholism, substance abuse and school drop-out. The Marathon Project provides an opportunity for at-risk youth to explore avenues for character development, goal setting and improved health, while building positive youth-adult relationships through mentoring. It is an asset based program. The Marathon Project is made possible only through the generosity of our funding partners and community support.
