Kick-Off Meeting, March 21, 2007

Runner Mike Slinskey of the Mid-Hudson Road Runners Club was the guest speaker at the March 21, 2007 Kick Off Event of the Marathon Project.

The Kick Off Event was the first time all Marathon Project youth, mentors, and parents came together to meet and celebrate the beginning of the 2007 season. Participants were introduced to the Dutchess County YMCA’s Nutritionist and Sports Trainer, both of whom will be providing ongoing assistance throughout the training. In addition, mentors participated in workshops addressing gang involvement and cultural competencies.
