Remember, Dutchess County Classic is at Arlington High School This Year!

Friday, September 14, 2012

This is just a reminder that we have moved The Dutchess County Classic to Arlington HIgh School This Year. It seems some websites are showing that the race is still in Wappingers. Please visit dcclassic.com for all current race information.

Please make sure you arrive at Arlington High School as early as possible! There will be thousands of people arriving and it may take a few minutes to get into the parking lot and park your car.

I would plan on arriving as early as 6:30am and no later than 7am so you can have a relaxed race morning. If anyone you are with still has to register on race day you will want to arrive between 6am and 6:30 at the latest.

The kid's one mile race goes off at 8am so all roads leading into the high school will be closed down by 7:45. Once this happens you will have to find a place other than the high school to park and walk over.

The 5k and half marathon races will go off together at 8:30 am.

Your race packets and race bibs will be located inside the school. You may come through the front main entrance and proceed to the pre-registered area for your race. Any other runners who have not registered may do so at a table designated for race day registration.

I cannot stress the importance of arriving early. You do not want to miss the start of your race. There will be traffic control people and police and fire personnel supervising the roadways in and out of the school, so please follow their instructions and proceed with caution.

Enjoy your race and I look forward to seeing you on Sunday!
