Rosendale Runs from Steve Schallenkamp

Sunday, June 28, 2015

On October 10, 2015, the Rosendale Plains Run 4.4 Miles Run/Walk is being revived with a special and unique half marathon. These will be called Rosendale Runs.

The half marathon  will be using the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail (which has been listed as one of the top 10 rail trails in the country). The race course will go over a 143 year old trestle built in 1872. The course will veer off into the old Williams Lake property and go through a candlelit cave, it will then get back on the rail trail head past the old Rosendale cement mines (Rosendale cement was used to build the Brooklyn Bridge and other iconic nyc landmarks), the Binnewater Lakes and turnaround and come back across the trestle.

The race will have nice t-shirts, unique awards, finishers gift for the half marathoners, ample refreshments. It will be acurrately measured and well marked and well manned. Best of all 100% of the proceeds will go to the Rosendale community pool project.

Members of the Shawangunk Runners will be assisting with the planning and  the race details of this event. Race site. www.rosendaleruns.org
